Waleed Ajaz

Full-Stack & AI Engineer

I build software people open every day.

I take client projects from the first discovery call to production. Right now that means a coaching platform running with 10 active clients, and a RAG assistant that answers from a company's own documents.

Resume
  1. Senior Software Engineer · Al Sufun Trading

    May 2026Present

    Qatar

    • Joined as a technical partner — own client acquisition, run technical discovery meetings, and scope, build, and ship custom software end to end for each engagement
    • Built and shipped moementum.fit, a full-stack fitness coaching platform for a personal trainer — workout and calorie logging, daily metrics, trainer feedback, progress photos/video, and stats — now running with 10 active clients
    • Leading development of a food-delivery marketplace MVP for a client, currently in active build (confidential)
    • Delivered two smaller client engagements: an inventory management system for Al Faitri, and a full digitalization of a caravan dealership — product catalog, marketing channels, and SEO/AEO
  2. Full Stack Developer · Daixara Technology

    Dec 2025Apr 2026

    Lusail, Qatar (Remote)

    • Built a real-time multilingual meeting translation and intelligence platform — Faster-Whisper transcription, XTTS v2 voice cloning, RAG-powered Q&A, and speaker diarization — deployed as Dockerized Go + Python microservices
    • Built a static-analysis CLI tool to audit legacy .NET systems for performance anti-patterns, used it to audit and fix 6 internal tools, and upgraded 3 of them to AI-compatible services rebuilt in Python and Go
    • Rebuilt an ERP workflow-visibility system modeling an 8-step, sometimes-deescalating approval chain — giving requesters live status, clear ownership at every step, and non-disruptive notifications when something needed their input
  3. Software Developer · Qatar Charity

    • Modernized a legacy .NET MVC monolith serving 50K+ users into modular components and RESTful APIs, cutting average page load time by 35% and enabling independent feature deployments
    • Architected GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for .NET Core services on Azure App Services, moving release cycles from bi-weekly to on-demand with zero-downtime deployments

About

I started as a backend engineer. A few years in, I got pulled into a project that needed real ML models, not just APIs, and that was the turn. When the current wave of AI models started landing, I went all in — Claude, OpenAI, Kimi, self-hosted Ollama, building RAG systems from scratch. What kept me hooked wasn't the hype, it was how fast you could go from idea to a working MVP.

I don't like building on WordPress or templates — they cap what you can actually do, and I'd rather ship something custom that's optimized around the real problem instead of around a theme. Framer is the one exception that's changed my mind; it made me pay a lot more attention to what these tools can actually do.

I ran my own company in Qatar before moving to Pakistan for better access to the kind of startup teams I wanted to learn from. At this point I'm only taking on roles and projects with people who care about the work — good engineering, a real environment, some creative energy. I've already done the bad-management thing.

Outside of work: anime, metal, the gym, and as much hiking and trekking as I can get away with — there's a decent chance I'm somewhere in the mountains while you're reading this.

Hire me for

AI applications
RAG over your own documents, assistants, transcription and translation — retrieval that actually cites its sources, not a chat widget bolted on.
Full-stack products
SaaS apps, client portals, internal dashboards, MVPs — data model through deployed UI, built so a team can pick it up after me.
Backend and integrations
APIs, auth, database design, and the third-party plumbing that quietly breaks at 2am if nobody thought about it.
Business automation
Replacing the spreadsheet-and-email workflow with something that survives past the one person who understands it.
